BARTON Displacement Meters

Description

Like the positive displacement meters, the Flotrac meter is designed to mechanically measure the volumes of low viscosity liquids flowing at high pressure. The Flotrac meter employs the exclusive "restricted vortex" principle to provide accurate Measurement in a 10: 1 range.

The process liquid enters the Measurement chamber through the 1 in. Inlet. (25 mm) input connection.
As the liquid forms a 360-degree cycle, it is separated equally into two flows.
The special configuration of the Measurement Chamber forces these currents in a series of vortices, making the rotor assembly rotate in direct proportion to the flow. The two liquid streams are then combined at the outlet port of the meter.

FLOTRAC METERS

All the construction materials used in the Flotrac meter are resistant to corrosion and abrasion, and only a moving part of the meter, the rotor, comes into contact with the process fluid. The rotor assembly, consisting of bearings and an integral magnet, can be removed or replaced quickly without removing the meter from the line. The register assembly is magnetically coupled to the rotor assembly, which eliminates friction and leakage from the stuffing boxes.

The Flotrac 306 and 380 models share several interchangeable parts, allowing the user to easily convert a "standard flow" of 306 meters to a "low flow" of 380 meters and vice versa.

Similar to a PD meter, the Flotrac meter does not require the installation of a straight tube upstream or downstream of the meter.

FLOCO SAMPLERS

The Floco sample is an accessory of the Floco model F-500 meter that provides an efficient method for obtaining composite samples of "ratio to flow". The sample indicates the quality of the product that flows, and is often used to determine the oil-water ratio (water cut) in a crude oil production facility. Accurate sampling is achieved by drawing fixed-size samples that are proportional to the net flow volume.
The individual sample size and sampling interval can be adjusted. The system is mechanically managed to guarantee a low installation cost and high reliability.

To help ensure accuracy, the sample extracts each sample from the middle of the flow stream. All samples are stored securely in a composite container with a weight-operated closure. The sample assembly can be mounted on any Floco F-500 meter in a horizontal (standard) or vertical (optional) pipe. Vertical installations must be specified as ascending or descending flow. The flow address (up or down) must be specified for vertical installations. When the orientation is specified correctly, the sample will automatically turn off when the receptacle is full.

The sample bottle is vented to the atmosphere. To avoid exposing personnel to toxic vapors, never use the sample in applications that require NACE MR0175.

The Floco Sampler is available in two models: MMS-1 and FRA. The respective models employ a unique internal sample Valve and full bottle closing mechanisms.

  • FLOCO PULSE TRANSMITTER

The Floco pulse transmitter (FPT) adds a frequency output to an F meter of the Floco series. It is ideal for updating on-site meters to provide the necessary electronic output associated with an automation or SCADA project. The transmitter typically consists of a lens similar to a gear mounted within the magnetic field of a standard turbine flow meter pickup coil.
As the teeth of the gear pass under the pickup coil, an electronic pulse is generated in the same way that the movement of the rotor blades of a turbine meter generates a pulse. The FPT can generate up to 126 pulses per gallon from the US. UU For any 1 "entry or 2 inches Floco Meter.

The FPT can be installed easily and quickly without removing the meter from the service. The transmitter is mounted directly on the body of the meter and can be used with or without a mechanical register.
Totalizers of the NuFlo MC series or 2-4-20 mA frequency converters are available to meet the desired output signal requirements. For applications that require a high-amplitude 2-24-volt square wave signal, NuFlo offers an economically powered coil as an alternative. The electrical certifications are different for this alternative style.

While the standard FPT is suitable for + 250 ° F (+ 121 ° C), optional temperature ratings up to + 450 ° F (+ 232 ° C) are available. Explosion-proof models feature 1/2-in. FNPT electrical connection, while the intrinsically safe model has an optional 1 in. MNPT hub
